Recent reports suggest there is a growing interest in the need for hybrid heating systems, something that has been, until now, very much overlooked.
A poll that has been commissioned by Baxi found that 66% of heating professionals are looking for ways to respond to varying property demands with heating and hot water and more than a third of those surveyed said they were considering a hybrid heating system.
Interestingly, the poll also found that just under a third have already made the move to a hybrid system, which gives confidence to those still at the consideration or undecided stage.
So what exactly is a hybrid heating system?
Using both renewable energy sources and traditional energy sources, a hybrid system delivers an intelligent way to switch from or utilise both sources with advanced control. This is preferable for many reasons, mainly the fact that it ensures less reliance on traditional heating sources and therefore can be seen as more cost-effective. It is also a good option for businesses and home owners looking for a more energy-efficient solution that allows them to make the gradual switch to fully renewable energy sources at a later date.
As there is now a growing interest in hybrid systems and the new technology they bring, it is important that heating professionals educate the end user to the benefits such a system can offer and how upgrading an existing heating system to hybrid can indeed be cost-saving. It also acts as a solution for both old and new properties where the hybrid control is able to deliver the most cost-effective heating depending on demand and outdoor temperature.
